Ingredients
10 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped (about 4 pounds)
3 cups sugar (brown and white combo, if desired)
2 teaspoons cinnamon
½ teaspoon cloves
½ teaspoon salt
Directions
Place all ingredients in a crock-pot and mix well. Cook on high heat for 1 hour, reduce heat to low and cook for an additional 9 hours. Blend apples with an immersion blender until smooth with a few chunks of apples remaining. Remove lid and continue to cook on low heat for 1-2 more hours until it reaches the desired consistency (it will firm up a bit as it cools). Spoon apple butter into jars and store in the refrigerator.
